Max Pitruzzella (Montpellier, France) — Max hails from France, where he developed a reputation that has brought him to teach all over the world. Recent credentials include first place at the Boston Tea Party in the Advanced WCS Jack 'n Jill. With his partner Annie, Max teaches WCS in Montreal and coaches Montreal's first West Coast Swing team. He's also taught WCS in cities including Toulouse, France, and Quebec City. An enormously versatile dancer, Max is also an accomplished dancer of Salsa and Tango, and a Lindy Hop champion.
Annie Trudeau (Montreal, QC) — One of Canada's top swing dance competitors, Annie has choreographed numerous award-winning routines and now coaches Montreal's West Coast Swing team. A popular teacher in Montreal and around the world, Annie is a passionate social dancer who is widely admired for her musicality and styling. Annie draws from an unusually large variety of dance backgrounds ranging from gymnastics to ballet to African dance. As artistic director at Studio 88-SWING in Montreal, Annie works full-time teaching, choreographing and coaching dancers such as Montreal's new West Coast Swing team with her partner Max.
Maria Ford (Ottawa, ON) — Maria has danced since she could walk. She trained in contemporary jazz, tap and ballet for 13 years, as well as gymnastics and synchronized swimming. She holds 17 provincial dance competition medals, including gold and silver places for solo jazz work. Recently Maria has been adding WCS medals to her list, and together with her partner André she's been enjoying travelling to WCS competitions to compete and dance.
André Danis (Ottawa, ON) — In his 40s, André decided he wanted to "discover his inner rhythm": thats when he started dancing West Coast Swing, and André quickly made up for lost time to become a strong and creative West Coast Swing leader. He brings exceptional musicality, a flair for choreography, and martial arts training to his dancing. Maria and André teach group lessons in their private studio and other Ottawa locations.
André is also an experienced DJ, and we'll hear him spin at Saturday Night Swing!
